Principal's 200 Club
A few years ago, Principal Markworth started a fun positive-behavior reward system called the Principal's 200 Club. Students can earn Leader Tickets for being safe, responsible, respectful and successful. They then enter their Paw Prints into a drawing at the office.
Every morning we draw two names from each grade level. Mrs. Hardy announces the winners over the intercom, then the winners come to the office. Each winner picks a number (from 1-200) out of a hat, then tapes his or her name on the Principal's 200 Club poster, on the number that corresponds with the number he or she picked out of the hat. Later, parents of winning students receive a phone call from the school, letting them know of their child's great behavior.
We continue the Leader Tickets drawings until we get 10 names in a row on the poster. When that happens, those 10 students get a surprise with Principal Markworth.
We then clear off the Principal's 200 Club poster, empty the Paw Print drawing containers, and start all over again.
When you are at Hillcrest, be sure to look at the Principal's 200 Club poster (It actually says Extrordinary Huskies 200 Club) in the display case in the entryway of the school.
